Week 13: Nov. 13-17
Thank you to all who have been able to volunteer during our Writing Workshop and Literacy Station time. The students love having you there and I appreciate having an extra pair of eyes while I work with students. There are still several open slots so don't forget to click on the green volunteer button (top right) and sign up!
Please join us for our Thanksgiving Celebration on Tuesday, November 21 at 12:45 in room 109. This is a very informal gathering- younger siblings are welcome to join us. Your students will be showing off some of their Thanksgiving projects and enjoying some snacks. We might even take the party to the playground if the weather is nice. **You are welcome to take your student home with you immediately following the celebration but please make sure you sign them out first (either in the office or with me- I'll let you know which one).
*Check blue folders on Thursday afternoon for a very special invitation to our Thanksgiving Celebration.
If your student will be absent next Monday & Tuesday due to traveling would you please let me know?
Needed: Treasures for our treasure box.
Last week I introduced a new reward system to the class: Students can earn popsicle sticks for a variety of reasons - good choices, respect, cooperation, kindness, etc. Once they earn 10 sticks they can trade them in for a treasure or a privilege. Any donations for our treasure box would be much appreciated-things like small squishy balls, a pack of colored pencils or special markers, a small notebook or coloring book, sticker books (think Dollar Store or Target Dollar Aisle). No food items please!
Finally, I will be out this Friday. I am taking a personal day so that I can travel to Garland to watch my niece play in the 6A state volleyball championships. Jil Lurie will be subbing for me.
