Week 20: January 16-19
What a crazy start to the new semester! Four days back and then a four day weekend! Hopefully, everyone is extra rested and ready to get back to school!
Please click the link below (or the green volunteer button top right) to sign up to volunteer during writing workshop and literacy stations.
*If you would like to be a permanent volunteer (same day every week) or share one of the spots with another parent, just let me know. Dates have been added up until Spring Break.
I have completed reading assessments for your students and have created new reading groups based on this data. You will notice new books coming home in ziplock baggies. Some books will be at independent levels (a little easier) and some will be at instructional levels (a little more challenging). There may even be a few high interest books that are thrown in just for fun. The expectation is that they practice reading at least 10 minutes each night.
The 100th Day of School is coming up fast! I will send home more details later but your student might want to start thinking about how they will dress up like a 100-year-old person and what 100 items can they bring to school (must fit in a gallon-size bag).
